Bruce Wallace has had a long and diversified career as a computer scientist and systems designer. Formally educated at Cornell University with BS and MS degrees in computer science and computer graphics, he has held pioneering positions at Bell Labs, JP Morgan, Lucasfilm, and most recently, for the past 13+ years, at HBO as Director, Digital Asset Management, where he architected their subimage automation system for processing of imagery for all of HBO’s delivery platforms.
Of significance, he single-handedly built a suite of applications for managing media assets, using simply Microsoft Office Excel and VBA, leveraging the extensibility of VBA to integrate with HBO’s Oracle-based DAM system, process videos and images, integrate via Web services to cloud-based systems, and streamline the operational processing required to deliver digital content. The beauty of Excel VBA is that every Windows PC with Microsoft Office has everything that’s needed for development and delivery.
In addition, Bruce has the multimedia skills needed to create compelling content, including explainer videos with animations, imagery, and audio narration.
